What to do if your transaction is still stuck
Did you submit a transaction and are still waiting on confirmation from the Blockchain? If so, then here are a couple of steps that you can take:
a) Speed up gas: Open your metamask and head on over to “Activity.” From there, find your transaction (illustrated in image 1 & 2) and press “Speed-up.” This will result in a higher gas fee being charged as validators would be incentivized to prioritize your transaction — the higher the priority, the faster it will get confirmed.
b) Wait for your transaction to be approved: Unfortunately at certain intervals, the blockchain can be congested resulting in a significant delay in the time duration between a user submitting a transaction for approval and the time it takes for validators to confirm the said transaction. This results from chain congestion (i.e, a lot of pending transactions awaiting confirmation due to a high network workload) and hence, sometimes the best course of action is to wait up to a minute or two.
c) Check the Blockchain explorer: Refer to the blockchain explorer. If it shows up as a “Success,” then you might need to simply add the token contract address to your wallet to see the funds. For information on Contract Addresses, refer to Overnight’s Docs here.
d) Cancel the pending transaction and retry: Even after waiting a couple of minutes your transaction has not been processed, then the next course of action is to cancel the transaction and simply try again. This usually occurs when the transaction hasn’t been broadcasted (illustrated in image 4). Note that if your transaction is pending for 10 minutes, it would be canceled automatically.
e) Reset your Metamask (this will not require you to re-enter your seed phrase): If canceling pending transactions does not work then try receding all your outgoing transactions. To perform this action, head on over to your Metamask and go to Settings > Advanced > Reset Account after which you’ll be able to try again.
